Thank you for visiting my website.
My name is Irfan Murtaza. I was born in Karachi, Pakistan, and have lived in the United States for the last 35 years. I began writing poetry at the age of 15 and presented my work in an international mushaira (poetry event) in 1987. I am the founder and current president of Urdu Writers Society Inc. which actively promotes Urdu literature in the US.
When I started to paint, I chose the subjects for my paintings that typically revolve around nature, history, landscapes, and human suffering.
All of my paintings are acrylic-based. When it comes to painting, I am a true realist. I like to create paintings that require detailed work. Since I was born in Pakistan, my poetry and paintings contain subjects related to Pakistan, as well as the history of other countries.
Two of my paintings have been inaugurated on two separate occasions by the ambassadors of Pakistan to the USA.
The Ambassador of Pakistan to the USA, His Excellency, Mr. Aizaz Chaudhry inaugurated my painting of Shah-Jahaani Masjid.
Consul General of Pakistan (Los Angeles, Mr. Abdul Jabbar Memon was also present on this occasion.
